The Durutti Column played at Deeply Vale in July 1978. Tony Wilson compered the new wave afternoon in a white suit. The Durutti Column featured Vini Reilly, and amongst others, Tony Bowers on bass in a green boiler suit, and Dave Rowbotham on guitar. This was their fourth ever gig. Other artists included (w/ The Fall, The Restricted, Alt TV, and Tractor.
Setlist included: I Like I Hate, Smile, Necrophiliac's Blues*
* These are the song titles as they appear on the cassette that the sound engineer who worked on the Deeply Vale box set had, although there are 2 songs from the set that made it on to the box set called "Halitosis" and "Boxes". I'm still trying to confirm if these are 2 more tracks performed or if these are 2 of the 3 tracks from the cassette with the titles changed for whatever reason.). A full set was performed but these are the only tracks confirmed that they played. Many thanks to "ozit" at deeplyvale.com for the info!
